About Us

Our story

Bootsie's Sauce Co. is a local small batch hot sauce company. A collaboration of the wife & husband team of Melanie Torvi & Grant Basile. Our hot sauce adventure began with growing pepper varieties in our own garden, making sauce from our yield and sharing with our friends. The results motivated us to take this further and develop Bootsie's Sauce Co. We are determined to make the peppers we choose the main attraction of our sauces. We work with our local providers to find the best available produce to really develop our flavor first sauces. We are all natural, using no preservatives, artificial coloring or binders in our sauces.  Boots was the nickname given to Grant's mother, Suzanne, by his grandmother. As seen in our label designs, she loved dressing up as a young girl, and was rarely seen without her boots on. We chose the name as a remembrance and a way to honor her. She was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away before we became fully operational, but she had seen and approved of our earliest designs. We are thrilled to bring this business to fruition and hope to share our love for all things hot with you. So order some hot sauce and PUT A WIGGLE IN YER SCOOT!!!
